Arap Uria Biography in summary

With the current generation, so many people are interested in content creation. Meshack Kiprop Biwott, or alias Arap Uria, could be more exceptional. He realized his career early and began to record skits using his phone and later posted them online to entertain his audience.

He was doing this for fun, not knowing that this could be his source of income a few years later, and he would receive so many company endorsements. The comedian who rose to prominence by impersonating politicians and mimicking poetic lines of a prominent commentator, Peter Drury, is the father of one son, Kigen Uriah.

Early Life and Education

Meshack Kiprop Biwott was born on 1 January 1996 in Kamau, Moiben constituency UASIN gishu county. He began schooling at Mutei Primary School and proceeded to Sacho High School for his secondary Education. Later on, he completed his secondary Education at Tambach High School.

He attended Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology for his bachelor’s degree, where he  took a course in Education, majoring in mathematics and geography, and he  graduated in 2019

Career

The “Kenyan Peter Drury” was named Arap Uriah by his grandfather. He began doing comedy, where he acted as a drunken man. His grandfather inspired this character. He could record clips of him imitating his grandfather while drunk using his phone and later on posting online.

This character irritated his father, who was a devoted Christian. His father taught that the character he was portraying was inappropriate. His mother kept on encouraging him to do what he was passionate about. His father later accepted and encouraged him to continue with his comedy after witnessing the incredible reception he got from friends and the community at large. After graduating, he ditched his profession and participated fully in comedy.

Rising to fame.

Arap Uria rose to fame through lip-syncing video clips of various Kenyan politicians before shifting to mimicking famous football commentator Peter Drury. In 2018, Arap Uria posted a clip imitating Peter Drury during the  UEFA Champions League. The clip went viral on various social media platforms, and among those who watched was Drury himself. It captured the attention of Drury, who shared a video praising Arap Uria for his exceptional lip-syncing skill.

In a video that Drury posted, he stated that he loved what Arap Uria was doing, and he joked that he could wish to be taught how to commentate. Jimmy, Drury’s counterpart, also stated that he loved the cups on his ears.

Net worth

Arap Uriah’s net worth is estimated at 10 million Kenyan shillings. His channel has over 380k subscribers, which is equal to $80,162; he has uploaded over 400 videos since the onset of his comedy.
