Most of the time we find ourselves engaging in the hustle and bustle of our daily habits that are slowly killing us without our consent. However, we continue to do them without knowing we are destroying our health.

Here are the 20 habits that seem harmless but slowly draining us, sabotaging our well-being and causing problems such as diabetes, stress, sleep disorders etc. hence reducing our stay here on earth.

  • Failing to exercise and living an inactive life: To achieve a healthy living one must not only have a balanced diet but also exercise. Sitting down for longer times or being physically inactive without practicing any form of exercise has been associated with various health problems such as heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.
  • Smoking cigarettes: Indulging in smoking can cause lung cancer and other heart diseases which can slowly lead to death. The nicotine in cigarettes can shrink the brain causing a range of diseases. One should quit smoking to avoid further complications.
  • Extremely Poor Diet:  People tend to love sugary foods and ignore practicing a balanced diet to meet their body’s needs. Taking too much sugar, processed foods, and unhealthy fats can result in heart problems and other chronic ailments which can lead to death.
  • Excessive Consumption of Alcohol: Too much alcohol in your body can damage your liver and put you at risk of cancer. Always be vigilant of your alcohol consumption.

  • Not relaxing and enjoying your free time: Not engaging in any form of recreation can lead to a stressful life. To avoid this one must create time for doing leisure activities such as travelling, reading etc.
  • Skipping Breakfast:  In today’s world, we are so busy that we might end up not having our breakfast or even lunch. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and failing to take can lower the energy levels in the body leading to cravings and overeating later in the day. It is therefore advisable that one should not skip it at any cost.

  • Loneliness: Failing to stay with people and share your happiness and sorrows can lead to loneliness and poor mental health.
  • Overworking: inadequate rest can lead to stress, fatigue, and other health issues.
